The Spiritual Needs in Uganda

Uganda is home to 40 million people and one of the youngest and most rapidly growing populations in the world. Most Ugandans live in the central and southern parts of the country, particularly along shorelines of Lake Victoria, the world's largest tropical lake and second-largest fresh water lake. Fertile soil and regular rainfall make agriculture an important part of Uganda’s economy.

Though 84% of Ugandans identify as Christians, and of that, 33% as evangelical believers, there is a real need for sound doctrine and authentic Christian leadership across the country. Many church leaders in Uganda lack theological education, resulting in a preponderance of false teaching placing health, wealth, and prosperity at the center of the gospel. Meanwhile, Islam continues to grow throughout Uganda, and the opportunities to reach Muslims for Christ are quickly multiplying.

Although the war ended in 2002, Uganda has suffered through more than 40 years of war and spiritual devastation—most recently at the hands of the Lord’s Resistance Army, an oppressive guerilla group led by Joseph Kony. The suffering was widespread, but most deeply felt in the northern region where Kony’s army forced many young girls into prostitution and forced young boys to either face their death or kill their own family members. The healing and hope found in Jesus Christ is desperately needed.

Christian Missions To Uganda

Our Uganda team is initiating the opening of this opportunity-filled mission field for more team members and future ministry. Our team leading Christian missions to Uganda dreams of starting a youth center to equip students with sustainable life skills while opening doors for evangelism and discipleship. Additionally, we desire to develop a discipleship school to train believers and church leaders in ministry and missions in Uganda.

Will you join us as we seek to root the next generation of Ugandan church leaders in the word of God?

People all around the world are searching for hope, but many don’t have someone to tell them about the hope found in Jesus. They need YOU.
